The cabin was amazingly comfortable. The peace and quiet which I needed was great. Amenities suited me fine. Will be bac Positive: I loved the location and serenity which was what I was looking for. Negative: I liked it all

Thoroughly recommended for a delightful off grid experience. Positive: This cabin is in a delightful quiet location and is beautifully furnished and designed. We appreciated the off grid experience and the layout of the rooms. Directions for using equipment were clear and concise and the view from the balcony with all the lovely autumn colours was wonderful. The breakfast was adequate - eggs, bread, milk and basic cereal provided. Negative: We couldn't find anyone to talk to so that we could buy some wine and there didn't seem to be an alternative.

Positive: Location should have been idyllic by the lake and vineyard etc. Instead building site demolition to the old lake side restaurant and surroundings. We knew the restaurant was closed but not a building site. Negative: Very noisy neighbours up the hill out for a boozy loud Saturday afternoon not what we expected in this beautiful peaceful setting. Had to close all the windows trying to have a quiet relaxing afternoon. Not to be ! No red wine or sparking available to purchase on arrival as advertised on line. Empty bottles from previous guests not collected showed they had drank all these wines and not been replenished. Breakfast very poor limited selection left on site in fridge and kitchen. No BBQ to cook etc. No butter or spreads for toast. Had couple yogurts in fridge but no fruit etc. Would not recommend staying here until the restaurant rebuild complete and some noise restrictions required for inconsiderate quests.

The hideaway where you can’t help but relax! Positive: Gisbourne Peak Winery provides a quiet hideaway nestled amongst the extensive vines. A well equipped cabin made for a very restful stay. We’ll be back. Negative: Nothing

Not bad, not great. Positive: For us, it was just good to get away somewhere because it had been a while. The view wasn't bad. Negative: Their political statement written on the gas heater. If you do not want guests using it, how about simply removing it? That really felt extremely unwelcoming. Also there was another sign saying not to drink the water, so we used bottled water and drove home to fill up water bottles for the kettle.
